An Independent Research Institute for Contemporary Aesthetics. Museum of One was founded in 2025 by Tarique. Dorian Vale is Tarique's publishing name and the byline used for work issued through Museum of One.

Museum of One develops and documents Post-Interpretive Criticism and related work in aesthetics, art criticism, phenomenology, and the ethics of interpretation. It publishes essays, research programmes, books, journal volumes, and edited dialogues; maintains bibliographic and archival records; and links to external records that readers can inspect at their source.

How it operates

Museum of One is currently founder-led. Editorial selection, editing, production, metadata, corrections, and preservation are handled by Tarique, publishing as Dorian Vale. Contributors and correspondents are credited according to their actual role. A conversation, citation, catalogue entry, or external record does not by itself establish affiliation, collaboration, or endorsement.

The institute has no university, museum, or learned-society affiliation. Its independence means that its research and publishing decisions are made without direction from a parent institution. It does not imply external validation or recognized institutional status, or exemption from scholarly standards. Claims published here are expected to stand on identifiable sources, accurate attribution, transparent metadata, and a record open to correction.

Research, publishing, and records

The Journal of Post-Interpretive Criticism is the site's open-access serial. Museum of One Press is the publishing imprint used for the Journal's volume editions and for separately issued books. The Research Programmes and annual Research Record document continuing work and its stage of development.

Published Dialogues preserve exchanges developed with the knowledge or consent of the named participants. External Records points to records hosted by other people or organizations. Those links are especially important because visitors can inspect what an external source actually says rather than relying on Museum of One's summary.

The Museum of One Archival Library and repository mirrors support access and preservation. Repository deposits, catalogue records, identifiers, and indexing services describe or locate a work; they do not constitute endorsement or peer review.

Responsibility and corrections

Museum of One accepts responsibility for the material it places into the public record. Substantive factual, bibliographic, attribution, rights, and versioning errors should be corrected transparently. Licensing is stated at the level of the individual work or edition; no site-wide statement overrides a work-specific rights notice.
